## Connect SMB [#connect-smb]

1. Open **Settings**, then choose **MCP servers**.

2. Select **Add server**.

3. Name the server **SMB**, choose **Streamable HTTP**, and enter:

   ```text
   https://api.smb.co/mcp
   ```

4. Save the server, then select **Restart**.

5. Select **Authenticate** if SMB asks you to sign in.

## ChatGPT web [#chatgpt-web]

ChatGPT web uses MCP tools delivered through hosted plugins. A standalone SMB server can be added today through ChatGPT desktop; a hosted SMB plugin is not part of this BETA.
