## Connect SMB [#connect-smb]

Codex shares MCP setup across the ChatGPT desktop app, CLI, and IDE extension on the same machine.

Run:

```bash
codex mcp add smb --url https://api.smb.co/mcp
codex mcp login smb
```

The second command opens SMB sign-in when workspace access is available.

## Check the connection [#check-the-connection]

```bash
codex mcp list
```

You can also type `/mcp` inside Codex to see the connected server and available tools.
